The numbers are officially in: our best year EVER

Dear ASC members and supporters,

It has been a privilege to lead Attorneys Serving the Community. I am pleased to report that our 36th Annual Luncheon benefiting Nexus Recovery Center was a great success! We set a day-of donation goal to raise $35,000 to provide a woman, accompanied by children, with 90 days of residential treatment at Nexus.

Because of your generosity, we exceeded this goal and raised $38,511 via text-to-give. And, immediately after the Luncheon, a donor approached me, shared how moved she was, and pledged an additional $25,000 donation—bringing the day-of total to over $63,500! Amazing!

This is emblematic of the generosity I have witnessed all year as ASC’s Lead Chair. Here are a few highlights I would like to share:

  • ASC raised over $520,000 for Nexus this year.

  • After expenses, ASC conservatively netted over $350,000, which directly benefits Nexus’s mission.

  • ASC’s current 466 members (and counting!) are the most members we have had in our organization’s history.

  • Our members have raised a record-setting sum of over $70,000 through membership dues alone.

  • ASC had the highest netting and grossing silent auction in our history—raising over $103,000 for Nexus.

  • Our 5K returned to pre-pandemic numbers with about 625 participants.

  • We hosted our first standalone holiday market benefiting Nexus, which has considerable growth potential.

  • We learned from 5 powerhouse women attorneys who are prior ASC Co-Chairs at ASC Goes to School.

These highlights are just a sampling of ASC’s charitable impact this year. Thank you to my Co-Chair, Jennifer Klein Ayers, who will forever have my gratitude for serving by my side this year, and to all Committee Chairs and members who spent countless hours ensuring ASC’s success.

Thank you to each member for joining ASC and for supporting local organizations that benefit women, children, and families with your time, talent, and critical funding. Thank you to Nexus—and particularly the development staff and each person who shared Nexus’s mission with ASC throughout the year—for empowering women and their families in our community to overcome substance use disorders and to live healthy, resilient lives.

On a personal note, I am grateful to be part of ASC’s growth after the pandemic, and ASC has contributed so much to my personal growth. I agreed to serve as ASC’s Co-Chair in January 2020, and it is unreal to think about how much has changed since then. During my transition from ASC’s Co-Chair to Lead Chair, I joined a new firm—Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP—and I am so grateful for the firm’s and my colleagues’ support.

As demanding as navigating a new job can be, encouragement from strong women lawyers in our organization gave me the confidence to make that professional leap and lead ASC at the same time. I am so grateful for what an impactful year it has been from a fundraising standpoint and even more so for the number of genuine friendships I have formed and strengthened through ASC. Thank you from the bottom of my heart—you will always be my favorite group of lady lawyers!

All the best,
