We had an AMAZING 2023!
Because of your generosity, we raised over $357,000 (net) for Nexus Recovery Center in 2023.
Because of your dedication, we exited the pandemic with more than 475 members—the most in our organization’s history.
Because of your commitment to our community, we raised a record-setting sum of over $70,000 through membership dues alone to support Nexus Recovery Center.
Thank you to each member for joining ASC and supporting local organizations that benefit women, children, and families with your time, talent, and treasure.
We are off to a GREAT start supporting Crossroads Community Services!
We have already raised more than $43,000 in membership dues for CCS!
ASC Goes Couture sold out in less than a week.
Our Second Annual Fall Bazaar & Holiday Market raised more than $10,000 (net) and additional donations are still coming.
More than 220 women have already renewed their membership.
But our work isn’t done!
Our committee co-chairs and members are hard at work on the events planned for 2024. This year, ASC needs to raise $400,000 (net)—the most raised in a single year—to support four critical capital campaigns at Crossroads Community Services.
CCS is truly an amazing organization that has captured the hearts of our members. As the leading hunger relief provider in southern Dallas, CCS’ mission to support economic stability and health for low-income households is more important than ever. 1 in 5 children in Dallas County is food insecure. CCS offers its clients generous, accessible, and nutrition-focused assistance. It distributes more than 11 million pounds of food a year. Our capital campaigns with CCS focus on Food as Medicine. CCS gets the RIGHT AMOUNTS of the RIGHT FOODS to the RIGHT PEOPLE.
Here’s how YOU can help!
· Renew your membership
This year, to meet our funding goal, we are asking our members to consider “stepping-up” their membership. If you were a Leadership member last year, please consider renewing as a Leadership Gold member. If you were a Sustaining member, please consider renewing as a Leadership member. Every dollar of membership dues goes directly to CCS! Not sure if you’ve paid your membership dues? Check out our Current Members Page, which identifies all members who have already joined or renewed!
· Register for the Heart & Sole 5K
The 14th Annual Heart & Sole 5K is right around the corner, and our registration link is officially live! Please join us at Oak Point Park in Plano on Saturday, February 17, and promote the race to your family, friends and coworkers. Runners, walkers, children, and dogs are all welcome! Stick around after the race for breakfast, live music, and family-friendly activities, including a bounce house, face painters, and a balloon artist. Mark your calendar and register today
· Sponsor ASC’s 37th Annual Luncheon
We are thrilled to announce that Chef Kwame Onwuachi will serve as the keynote speaker at ASC’s 37th Annual Luncheon. Chef Onwuachi is the James Beard Award-winning executive chef at Kith/Kin, Esquire Magazine’s Chef of the Year, and author of Notes from a Young Black Chef, published by Alfred A. Knopf. He was born on Long Island and raised in New York City, Nigeria, and Louisiana. Onwuachi trained at the Culinary Institute of America and has opened five restaurants before turning thirty. You can learn more about the benefits of sponsoring ASC’s Luncheon by reviewing our Sponsorship Form.
· Donate items to ASC’s Silent Auction
Last year, ASC’s Silent Auction raised more than $100,000. Our success is largely attributable to the 400+ items that our members solicited for donation. We need your help to make this year’s Silent Auction a success! Please send our Solicitation Letter to businesses you frequent and ask them to donate an item. When you’re eating out at a favorite restaurant, ask them to donate a gift card. We can never have enough items to sell at the Silent Auction. High bidding items include hotel stays, vacation rentals, jewelry, spa & beauty packages, and art.
· Invite your friends to join ASC and attend our Networking Events
We have two amazing Networking Events planned in 2024. On January 30, CCS will host our membership at ASC Gives Back. Volunteer in CCS’ market and hear from Dr. Jaclyn Albin, MD, CCMS, DipABLM. Dr. Albin is the Medical Director for Food is Medicine Innovation at Parkland Health and is grant-funded for trials studying the impact of Culinary Medicine and food is medicine interventions for chronic disease through community co-led research.
On March 26, Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP will host ASC’s annual CLE program. This year, ASC is “Going to Court.” We will hear from former Chief Judge Barbara M. G. Lynn (N.D. Tex.), Chief Judge Brenda T. Rhoades (Bankr. E.D. Tex.), and Magistrate Judge Rebecca Rutherford (N.D. Tex.). These phenomenal women judges will discuss their pathway to the bench, what women lawyers can do to promote and sponsor each other, the “dos” and “don’ts” of appearing in court, and the importance of community service and pro bono work to our personal growth and professional success.
Thank our sponsors!
The work we do would not be possible without the support of ASC’s sponsors and in-kind donors. Our new website identifies the sponsors for all of our events. Please thank them for supporting ASC!
